One of the perks of being big in fashion is that people who are ostensibly more famous than you but involved in a pursuit meaner than high fashion, will still go out of their way to go to your parties/stay at your villas/namedrop you in rap songs, all out of what’s presumably a base understanding that you are rolling in some deep old world cultural capital they might never be able to touch. That having been said, Ny Mag recently spotted a recap of the month of July that designer Roberto Cavalli posted to his blog. In it he talks about Italy’s economic woes, shares his musings on tax policy, and namedrops all of the young entertainers he’s been chilling with. Among those were UK pop stars Jedward (who he refers to as “the Jedward” in the above photo’s caption), Kellan Lutz and his girlfriend, and Zac Efron. Cavalli and Efron hit it off especially well, according to the designer, with Cavalli saying that the two are “constantly exchanging text messages” and that they’ve “formed a friendship, based on mutual respect, which is destined to last a long time!” In case you forgot that Roberto Cavalli is an old Italian man, there he goes talking like Cesar Pavese to remind you.
