Rihanna Dabbing to ‘Purple Rain’ Makes Madonna’s Tribute a Little Better

+

While many a social media user was wildly underwhelmed by Madonna’s tribute to Prince at last night’s Billboard Awards, there was one performance that blew everyone away. Say it with me: Rihanna.

While praise for Rihanna’s heartfelt rendition of “Love on the Brain” flooded news feeds everywhere, the singer had another, less talked about performance. It came from the crowd, during Madonna and Stevie Wonder’s take on “Purple Rain,” and it stands to make the tribute a teeny, tiny bit more bearable for all them haters.

Just as the camera cut to Ri Ri during the chorus of “Purple Rain,” she dabbed, right on the word “Rain,” no less.

And if that isn’t enough of a palate cleanser for ya, may I redirect you to Jennifer Hudson and the cast of The Color Purple singing Prince’s iconic hit.
