Rapper Cakes Da Killa Celebrates Birthday With ‘New Phone (Who Dis)’

+

Just one month after Cakes Da Killa teamed up with Peaches for “Up Out My Face,” the New York emcee celebrated his birthday today with the release of animated visuals for a new track, “New Phone (Who Dis).”

In collaboration with Adult Swim and Red Bull Sound Select, this song takes us through a messy breakup with cheeky lyrics, like “I see I gotta dead you like Onika did Safaree.” With his forthcoming album Hedonism, which you can pre-order ahead of its Oct. 21 release date, “New Phone (Who Dis)” is further proof we can expect nothing less than an album full of bangers.

“I’ve been writing this album for maybe two years and it’s all about me feeling like an underdog,” Cakes told BULLETT. “But also realizing that, even though I may be this character in this scene, or in the landscape of the music world, I know I’m the shit at the end of the day because I pay my rent—I pay my bills. It’s all about that. I’ve got Peaches on it; I’ve got Rye Rye on it; I’ve got this new kid Josh Dst on it.”
