Belgian designer Dries Van Noten showed a collection at Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday, and by all accounts it was a success. “A masterful mix of loud and soft, simple and ornate, whimsical and sweet. Some familiar themes from the designer’s playbook (gold leaf, painterly florals, ethnic details) along with some new notes (tassels, exaggerated ruffles),” noted the LA Times. “The detail was extraordinary. There were tiny droplets of gold in the models’ eyelashes and gold woven through the parts in their hair,” said Style.com.
One thing that was neither extraordinary, nor masterful, however, was the soundtrack provided by Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood, who adapted the bass line from “My Iron Lung” into a bag of wet farts and teardrops moldering in the back of a refrigerator.
