Pussy Riot Releases Two New Videos, Says ‘Vagina is Bigger Than Trump’

+

Pussy Riot is on a roll. In the last two days, the Russian activist group has released two new songs, the anti-Trump ballad, “Straight Outta Vagina,” and trip-hop tinged, “Organs,” both with accompanying music videos. The two tracks were produced by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, and follow Pussy Riot’s trademark feminist ethos. “Straight Outta Vagina” features Desi Mo and Leikeli47, and celebrates the female anatomy.

“This song could be considered an answer to Trump,” Pussy Riot’s Nadya Tolokonnikova told The Guardian. “But I believe the idea of powerful female sexuality is much bigger than any populist megalomaniac man. […] Vagina is bigger than Trump.”

For the video, Pussy Riot tapped director Phillip Lopez to create a baroque feminist riot filled with armpit hair, peeing women and vagina candy—”Straight Outta Vagina” is an all out ode to womanhood and female empowerment.

“Organs,” however, is down-tempo electronica where Tolokonnikova raps in Russian about sexuality, repression, militarization and Putin. The gory video shows the singer in a bathtub full of blood, carrying the same rubber ducky from yesterday’s “Straight Outta Vagina” video. The highly politicized “Organs” likens freedom and bondage, criticizing the Russian police, government and economy.

“Politicians are praising ‘strong leadership,'” Tolokonnikova said.” Trump openly supports the authoritarian methods of Vladimir Putin […] It’s not the world in which I want to live.”
