Prince was found dead this morning at his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota, according to a report at TMZ and multiple outlets.
The iconic artist, full name Prince Rogers Nelson, had told the website he had been fighting the flu recently, following a medical emergency on April 15 suffered onboard his private plane, forcing an emergency landing. Carver County Chief Deputy Jason Kamerud confirmed a response to a medical call at the compound earlier this morning, but no official confirmation of identification has been announced.
Prince will be remembered as an American music legend, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame who sold over 100 million records over the course of his 40 year career. He was 57.
