“I’m tired of letting you go when you move under cover,” goes the hook to “Uncover” from Nashville’s TWICEYOUNG. It’s a sentiment that will feel familiar to anyone who’s ever, you know, existed. The song, from their Prefer You EP due out November 11, finds the band excavating deep bass sonics and hovering above the fray with effervescent synths and remorseful, but increasingly frustrated vocals.
“‘Uncover’ began a new chapter for us as writers,” Tyler Laspopoulos tells us. “This entire EP takes a step away from story telling and focuses on the raw emotion behind what we’ve been experiencing these past few years. A culmination of thoughts from completely unrelated incidents that brought us to where we are now. ‘Uncover’ focuses on those things that keep you up at night, and follow you through the day. Begging the question, ‘Is it worth it?'”
They leave the answer up to the listener. If you’re anything like everyone ever, then it’s a question you’re going to find yourself dealing with more than a few times before you get it right.
