With Trump’s Inauguration just days away, we’ll take any dose of feminism we can get. For alt-pop band, Psychic Twin, female empowerment comes in the form of their latest video, “Stop In Time.” Directed and choreographed by Ashley Robicheaux with director of photography, Jake Saner, the video channels femininity through magic. The sci-fi fantasy stars singer Erin Fein and drummer/producer, Rosana Caban, as well as Robicheaux, leading dancers Matilda Sakamoto, Ruth Howard, Holly Sass and Rebecca Margolick.
The track itself, off 2016’s Strange Diary, is an airy ballad, combining Caban’s production with Fein’s reverb-soaked voice. Along with the video, “Stop In Time” embodies the power in being a woman—and that’s exactly what we need right now.
“In light of the upcoming Women’s March, I feel even more proud of this video statement,” says Fein. “This is a song specifically about stopping time, poetically—it’s about trying to make great and even unthinkable or nearly impossible change occur. The video itself is a beautifully choreographed piece about the strength of women working together. We can do the impossible. We can make great change. When we work together, not even time or dimension can stand in our way.”
