Premiere: SALM Marry Strings and Synths on Captivating ‘Toy Spark Gun’ Video

“Toy Spark Gun” the song from French duo SALM featuring Dan Black, is a kaleidoscopic whirl of synths and strings, a mix of technology and traditional instrumentation, on its own. But the video hammers that description home, with a dancer in long flowing robes weaving and bending her way into a literal kaleidoscope of light.

“We’re really excited about our new music video because it’s a kind of  ‘back to the roots’ for us,” the duo explained. “In fact it’s been a few years that we didn’t appear in our own music videos, and this time we’re playing inside. There’s a kind of metaphor of the musical creation / composition with the girl who’s dancing between us and she’s kind of making the alchemy between acoustic and electronic, between the violin and the cello.”

The song, from the EP of the same name, is available for purchase here, complete with remixes from Leo Kalyan, Botnek, and Teen Daze, whose slowed-down, chill-wave take you can check out here.
