Premiere: Listen to Zipper Club’s Catchy New Wave Anthem, ‘Tick Tock’

After years of modeling and playing music with various groups, Lissy Trullie has found her groove. Along with Cerebral Ballzy’s Mason James and drummer, Damar Davis, Trullie crafts irresistible synth-pop with her new electroclash outfit, Zipper Club. Part Carly Rae, part Richard Hell, the band delivers catchy, unapologetic pop that embodies Downtown cool. Their latest single, “Tick Tock,” mixes punchy ’70s riffs with Trullie’s bubblegum hooks to create a biting new wave anthem—think The Clash meets The Knife. With saccharine synths and Trullie’s dreamy vocals, the track takes all the fun of ’80’s pop and gives it a post-punk twist.

“‘Tick Tock’ is about too much of a bad thing,” says Trullie.

“It was the first time the band had written and recorded in NYC,” adds James. “We worked out of Germano studios and Keith Richards was in the other room. I think some ’70s NYC Stones vibes definitely channeled their way through the walls and onto the track.”
Trullie agrees: “And Keith definitely knows about too much of a bad thing.”
