While the video for “Ace”, from Brooklyn four piece Honduras, follows a group of kids on one of those best night ever you guys adventures throughout the city, including commandeering a taxi for their trip, the song has the opposite feel. It ratchets up the tension as it progresses and descends into chaos, with Patrick Phillips coming playing both sides of the Iggy persona.
“The song has a very paranoid feel to it, and was written when me and [guitarist Tyson Moore] were being evicted from our old apartment in Bushwick,” Phillips explained. “We also recorded it with our friend Brian in Atlanta; living in his studio for a week without showering, listening to him rant about chem-trails, and smoking his vaporizer 14 hours a day. That certainly didn’t make the song less paranoid sounding.”
“Ace” comes from their second EP Morality Cuts out now on Black Bell Records.
