Today, BULLETT is happy to premiere Glass Theory‘s “Scream,” off his upcoming debut EP, Hang Up. Marrying buzzing synthesizers to a bottle-service beat, “Scream” starts off structured and slow before exploding into a muscular dance-pop stomper befitting of an after-hours club floor. (Alcohol is advised for listening, as is a dimmed room.) Glass Theory is the solo project of Los Angeles musician Jack Duff, who grew up trained in classical piano and jazz drumming—details that make sense the second the song kicks in. Because where else but Los Angeles could a song that celebrates the sweet side of hedonism be birthed from, and who but a classically-trained musician would stack a dance song with so many disparately formal elements? For the interested, Glass Theory will release Hang Up on July 31.
