Hardeman has a way of making even the most basic things sexy — I mean, remember their S/S ’18 presentation? Through tight fits, strategic cut-outs and a retro-futuristic style that’s equal parts Lolita and Las Vegas, the Amsterdam-based brand pushes boundaries, using classic denim to redefine our interpretations of how fashion relates to gender and sex. For her Fall ’17 collection, designer Sophie Hardeman teamed up with director Hannah Rosselin to create an East L.A. girl power mystery that showcases the strong femininity and effortless cool in all of her clothes. Starring Christiana Martocci, Where is Esperanza? captures Hardeman’s rebellious spirit and speaks to the core of what they do as a brand: empower. Whether you’re searching for your missing friend on the streets of Los Angeles, or eating Wonderbread sandwiches slathered in mayo, Hardeman provides the uniform to make sure you look really fucking good.
