Premiere: Fall In Love With The Lighthouse and the Whaler’s ‘Venice’ Video

While “Venice”, from Cleveland orchestral-indie-pop act The Lighthouse and the Whaler originally appeared on their 2012 debut This Is An Adventure, it hasn’t gotten the video treatment until now. Maybe that’s because the song was such a surprise hit for the band, especially considering it was a self-release.

The band have just released a new Venice EP that features remixes of the song and an acoustic version.

“I was really fascinated by the idea of love and how complicated its existence is,” singer/guitarist Michael LoPresti says of the Jack Munsch directed video in which a pair of lovers find themselves paralyzed, then healed, by the prospect of love.

“I really think the song is about taking the complication out of it and realizing life is short. When you find someone you love, do whatever it takes to be with them. The video really captures the idea that life without love is unbearable, and how finding it changes everything.”
