Premiere: Contact’s ‘Fascination Shadow’ Is a Synth-Pop Blast

+

We’ve long been fans of Young London around here, the Boston-based electro-pop group behind such hook-heavy party tracks as “Call My Name (Tonight),” Fortunately, a recent name change to Contact finds the razor-sharp pop sensibilities and synth-driven danceability still intact, as evidenced by their new video for “Fascination Shadow.” The video, directed by Zakk Bates, “is a dramatization of “the ever-gnawing human impulse, temptation,” they tell us.

“‘Fascination Shadow’ is a song about temptation,” Sarah Graziani explains. “I think that everyone has their own skeletons in the closet that try to creep out from time to time. This song is about the power of our darkest desires and the things we’ll do to keep them at bay.”

“We had a ton of fun shooting this video. We shot it all in one day in an empty dance studio,” Matt Rhoades adds. “Everyone was filmed by themselves, so to see how Zakk edited us all together was insane. Zakk is a VFX genius and he really got into the concept of everyone having skeletons in their closets. We can’t
wait to work with him again.”
