Marc Jacobs is, like, totally trying to make dreadlocks happen. At his fashion show earlier today, models wore multicolored dread coifs courtesy of Guido Palau. Sorry, Palau, we aren’t feeling it.
Thanks to The Cut’s deep dive into the look’s origin story (they were inspired by Lana Wachowski, the trans director who also starred in Jacobs’ most recent campaign) we know that Jacob’s looks were procured from Etsy, meaning plebes can hit up Dreads by Jena to cop the looks. Good news for Jena, bad news for everyone else.
While dreads are a look white people ranging from Dead Heads to Justin Bieber have been trying to pull off for years, it just isn’t happening. Stop trying to make dreads happen, Jacobs.
