Miami’s Pitbull is responsible for the most obnoxious kind of clubwave Top 40 party rap, and thanks to trolls at troll mecca Somethingawful.com, the lower 48 is going to be rid of him, at least for a while. Due to a competition sponsored by Walmart and Listerine (wait really, Walmart and Listerine?), the rapper is going to perform on the island of Kodiak, Alaska, home of the superstore chain’s most remote location. David Thorpe and John Hendren from Something Awful engineered a prank to get the Kodiak location’s Facebook page the most likes, and with over 71,000, the rapper is headed north. Unsurprisingly, the super successful performer has a pretty good attitude about the whole thing: “I heard that Kodiak, Alaska, has the most likes due to someone who thinks he was playing a prank,” Pitbull said in a video responding to the winner of the contest. “But you gotta understand, I’ll go anywhere in the world for my fans.”
First, we’re pretty sure that the people who liked the store’s Facebook page didn’t just think they were playing a prank, and second, you’re not going there for your fans as much as the people who actively despise your existence. But hey, kudos for having a good attitude about the whole thing, and can you please take Chris Brown with you and somehow manage it so that he never comes back?
