It isn’t just grey-haired indie rock bands from the Reagan, Bush Sr., and Clinton years who are getting their reunion dues: Just now, Beyonce revealed on her website that Destiny’s Child is reuniting in some form for the first time in eight years to release new music on Love Songs, a compilation (or something) that’s set to be released on January 29. There isn’t much detail on her site, other than a well-crafted promo image and a line of text—”I am so proud to announce the first original Destiny’s Child music in eight years! – Beyonce” —that may have been written by Bey herself, for all we know, but it’s already available for pre-order on Amazon. If the hastily sourced blog reports are to to be believed, it will contain at least one new song—which means we can probably expect a heavily promoted video, too, in which Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams can make like they’re still friends. Just kidding! There’s no beef to hint at; they seem and have always seemed like well-adjusted adults who’ve capably handled the transition from teen trio to differently scaled solo stardom about as well as anyone could. So, yeah: January 29, and here’s a bunch of DC videos to pump you up.
