Here’s an update for a story you probably stopped caring about months ago: at long last Kanye West has reneged on his tirade against Beck at this year’s Grammys.
In case you don’t recall, after Beck won Album of the Year for Morning Phase, beating out Beyoncé (and Kanye fake-rushed the stage to interrupt his acceptance speech), the rapper had some strong opinions. Most notably, he said that, “Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé.”
Meanwhile, Beck didn’t seem to care (he told Us he thought Beyoncé was going to win, too, and maintained that he thinks Kanye is a genius. What a gentleman), West apologized via twitter and we all moved on with our lives.
But Kanye West never moves on with his life.
In an interview with the Sunday Times, the rapper concedes that Beck does, in fact, respect artistry.
“I’m fine to apologize for inaccuracies,” he said. “You know, I send flowers for inaccuracies. I talked to Beck’s wife [Marissa Ribisi], and I think I had a point about Beyonce’s album, but I think I was inaccurate with the concept of a gentleman who plays 14 instruments not respecting artistry.”
But he did have a point. Kanye West always has a point.
What flowers did he send tho?
