Based on the playlists he put out earlier this year on Spotify here and here, it’s pretty clear President Obama has decent taste in music. But in an interview with People, in which he and Michelle shared their favorite pop culture picks of the year, he’s upped the ante. His favorite song? Kendrick Lamar’s “How Much a Dollar Cost.”
There’s probably an important political lesson in there we can tease out of Obama’s selection of a song about refusing to give money to a homeless man who turned out to be God you’d have to think, right? For her part, the First Lady went with the more ubiquitous, but nonetheless solid pick of “Uptown Funk.”
