Bill Cunningham, the iconic photographer whose street style photographs changed the way we look at fashion, is sorely missed at this New York Fashion Week. A front row institution, Cunningham could oft be viewed zipping to or from fashion shows on his bicycle, donning his blue windbreaker.
Today the fashion photogs at Skylight at Moynihan Station paid tribute to their late, great colleague by wearing a riff on his signature workman’s jacket, as provided by IMG. With more than 75 photographers dressed a la Bill, it was a simple, lovely tribute to one of the greats.
Meanwhile, in Bryant Park, 50 chairs draped in blue canvas have been arranged in the shape of Cunningham’s trusty 35mm camera, another thoughtful tribute. We miss you, Bill.
