NYFW Men’s SS ’16: Michael Bailey-Gates’ Show Starred Half-Naked, Caged Models

+

NYC-based boxer line YUASA Studios paired last night with artist Michael Bailey-Gates for a gallery presentation packed with half-naked models in a center-stage cage (Perfect). The evening event was part of an ongoing Artist’s Series, where the brand partners with rising creatives for its seasonal campaigns.

Bailey-Gates’ contribution—the series’ fourth installment—included a lineup of photos, starring his close friends falling off ladders and jumping on trampolines in his apartment. “The images are meant to be read from left to right, like a comic book or text,” he said to i-D. “I was really into body language and saying something without using words.”

A much-needed break from the contrived fluff of mainstream NYFW Men’s presentations, YUASA’s DIY event was a refreshing collision of fashion, art (and nudity). See a sample of Bailey-Gates’ action-packed photos, below.
