Since Creative Director Nicola Formichetti first launched his private label, Nicopanda has been a pioneering voice in contemporary fashion. The clothing is inherently genderless, the campaigns star unsigned street models, many of whom are transgender, and the collections all pull diverse inspiration from disparate cultures. Continuing in this same vein, Nicopanda’s latest project centers on inclusion, which is one of four core brand values that will serve as themes for a series of forthcoming short films.
In the first chapter, “Nicopanda For All,” we’re introduced to an uninterested family having an uncomfortably boring dinner together. Things rev up when they send each other texts (who needs talking, right?) and the trio’s mundane holiday tradition becomes a full-fledged celebration with friends. We see some familiar faces in the Sisters Weekend-directed clip—”Triptych” Stars Queen Sateen & Exquisite, IMG Model Jillian Mercado and Stella Rose—all getting in on the fun, as the family father, played by Formichetti, rips off the tablecloth and transforms it into a runway. (Think Tom Ford x Lady Gaga, but way weirder). Watch, below:
