On Sunday night, Kim Kardashian posted a video on Snapchat that appeared to show a conversation between her husband Kanye West and Taylor Swift discussing his song “Famous.” The song, which you no doubt do not need to be reminded if you clicked on this post in the first place, features the lyrics “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous.”
In the video, Kanye can be heard reading the lyric, “To all my Southside niggas that know me best, I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex.”
“I don’t want to do rap that makes people feel bad.” he says.
“Umm, yeah I mean go with whatever line you think is better,” Swift answers. “It’s obviously very tongue-in-cheek either way. And I really appreciate you telling me about it, that’s really nice.”
“Relationships are more important than punch lines, ya know?” West says at one point.
Well then, that’s that, right?
Sadly, no. Because, as Swift pointed out in a response posted to Instagram, she never heard the “bitch” lyric, and she couldn’t have approved of a song she never heard in the first place.
“Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that bitch’ in his song?” she wrote. “It doesn’t exist because it never happened. You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that bitch’ in front of the entire world.”
