Albums are the format that drives critics/music fans crazy, but a good single is nothing to sneeze at, and Sky Ferreira’s got more than a handful of these. The 20-year-old singer is slated to release a full-length album sometime towards the end of this year (indetermine release date alert) but she’s got an EP, Ghost, that lands in October. Ghost is set to include production from Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes, Ariel Rechtshaid, and the great Jon Brion. We have Hynes and Rechtshaid (not to mention for Ferreira herself) to thank for this newest track from the EP, “Everything Is Embarrassing,” which Pitchfork premiered today and is actually pretty good! It mostly sounds like some late 80s rarity you might stumble across on Youtube after 20 minutes of mindlessly clicking related videos before you listened to it on repeat for about an hour, which is a pretty good thing. All Ferreira needs is 9 more songs like this and we’d all have an excellent pop album on our hands.
