The latest signing from the Skrillex-helmed OWSLA label, home to Dillon Francis, Zedd, and other top laptop-standing-at guys, is a bit of a detour. Florida’s Hundred Waters showcases a sophisticated orchestral pop sound on tracks like “Boreal” from their self-titled record. “More like Bored-real,” said a bro waiting in vain for the drop. Actually it’s more like “Arboreal,” as the quintet gallivant through an enchanted forest of electronic trees in their Stereo-Euro-electro-indie-lab blend where sunlight glistens off of reflecting pool surfaces while vaguely-Elvin looking women frolic in the water, all of which I swear I thought of before watching this teaser video from their forthcoming remix EP featuring the likes of Araabmuzik and Star Slinger (below). The group will be on tour later this month, hitting New York City on August 31.
