Even by Sigur Ros standards, “Fjögur Pianó” off the band’s recent Valtari album is an astonishingly slow song in which not a lot happens for eight minutes. But there’s a way to spice things up, as they found: by hiring a hirsute Shia LaBeouf to strip to his skivvies and lead us through some kind of art nightmare, complete with beautiful women, acid lollipops, and plenty of body paint. The sight of the former Even Stevens star wearing a whole lot of nothing—and, yes, this video is NSFW—may be a little jarring, if only because his Thoughtful Man shtick has always been suspect coming off the heels of three Transformers movies. Like if you whispered “aseriousartistsayswhat?” under your breath, dude would fracture a vocal cord screaming “WHAT!” in your face. That said, the Alma Har’el-directed clip is still gorgeously rendered and keeping in line with the rest of the band’s Valtari Mystery Film Experiment, which seems a solid bet to deliver other pretty clips set to the band’s pretty music.
