Nadia Bedzhanova’s Polaroid Series, an ‘Ode to the Endless Summer’

As summer ’15 comes to a close, photographer Nadia Bedzhanova is reflecting on her sun-soaked experiences through the lens of an instant polaroid camera. The images above were all captured during a July trip with model and actor friends to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, showcasing the crew in a rare candid environment.

“Nothing was staged,” Bedzhanova said. “All the vibes are sincere and authentic, as opposed to common fashion photography. This series shows them in an absolutely genuine setup, where they don’t have to pose or pretend to be anyone, but themselves; this is who they are.”

By using polaroids as her medium and motif, Bedzhanova said she was able to wholly channel the spirit of summer. “This is just one original shot, one emotion, one state-o-fmind in particular time and space without any photoshop or a hundred of takes,” she said. “Beers, t-shirt tans, rolling on grass, stick-and-poke tattoos on naked bodies—it doesn’t matter while it’s still summer and we can do whatever we want.”
