Daisuke Obana was nicknamed “Mister Hollywood” while working as a buyer in Japan. Traveling there so often to find used clothes, he eventually decided to make his own vintage-inspired pieces. In 2002, he debuted his Hooligan-meets-Hollywood label N.Hoolywood in Tokyo. A few years ago, he moved his line from Japan to NYC. He’s inspired by the fast pace, street art, and attitudes of the city but still takes inspiration from Japanese hardcore. He spoke with BULLETT TV about his new collection, past embarrassments, and what he wants from the future. Watch if you love stylish subtitles.
