+

Gay Dog Food emcee Mykki Blanco just launched his own label, “Dogfood Music Group,” a new imprint of !K7 that aims to give a voice to Underground artists who “transcend conventional cultural boundaries.” The label’s first official release will be called, C-ORE, and is slated for debut September 18. Featuring three member’s of Blanco’s creative community—Yves Tumor, Psycho Egyptian and Violence—the DMG album will incorporate rap, punk, noise, industrial and grime in one cohesive project.

“We are a group of friends who have created a release that represents a slice of what we’re into, our culture and what we want to show the world,” Blanco said. “People all over the world are only fed this singular image of ‘African American Music’ and we want to disrupt that. We all come from backgrounds outside of the black American norm, and the world deserves to see our culture as much as anything else.”

C-ORE is available for pre-order, now. Check out the official album cover and 12-song track list, below.
