Hannah Horvath is many things, but stylish is not one of them. But the decision for Hannah’s clothes to look awkward is calculated, as Dunham herself has talked about how Girls’s stylist Jenn Rogien will go out of her way to esnure Hannah’s clothes fit in a way that’s more frumpy than flattering. So, at first glance, it’s sort of bizarre that ModCloth has made a “Lena Denim Dress.” The dress appears to draw inspiration from the ’50s sundresses Hannah has been wearing throughout season 2. You know, when she’s not sauntering around Brooklyn in a mold colored t-shirt and hospital bracelet.
This dress, with its overbearing copy (“Becoming the voice of your generation – or, perhaps, “a” generation – is all about expressing yourself. Why not let your wardrobe in on the fun?”), is yet another reminder that it’s that Girls is the only show on television. ModCloth suggest pairing the dress over a graphic tee with black knee high socks, but maybe it would look better with the Deborah Lipman Girls nail polish, or the Girls nail decals. It would definitely be the perfect outfit to wear after one of those special Girls SoulCycle classes or with your Girls Drybar blowout.
