Meltdowns on live television are commonplace in America, partly because this country is full of outraged, paranoid, and exploitative people who are mostly out of themselves. That is not the case in Canada, where either the hosts or guests are so polite that TV interviews usually remain the bland and docile segments they’re intended to be. That’s why when Billy Bob Thornton snapped at CBC host Jian Ghomeshi in 2009, it shocked the nation.
Today Mike Tyson, who’s been known to bite back, couldn’t contain himself during appearance on Canadian news channel CP24, when the host referred to him as “a convicted rapist,” which Tyson is. The former champ, who was in town performing his stage show The Undisputed Truth, paid a visit to Toronto’s living Hindenburg disaster Rob Ford, and was asked if his past legal troubles as said convicted rapist could hurt Rob Ford’s chances at reelection, which is actually still a thing. At that point Tyson, who’s been very well-behaved since his boxing days ended, showed the side of him that once made him one of the most feared men on the planet. To his credit, the host quickly changed subjects and kept the interview going, but as you’ll see in the video below, Mike Tyson is still insane.
