This Men Wearing Their Girlfriends’ Clothes Photo Series Is Something Something

+

Thinking about the ever-shifting mores of gender roles, Spanish photographer Jon Uriarte decided to photograph a series of men in his country and the United States dressed in their girlfriends’ clothes in the homes they share together for a piece titles “The Men Under the Influence.” The results are, well, the results are actually going to be a Rorschach test on your own personal outlook on gender. Are they funny? Are the poignant? Or do they just offend your sensibilities as a fashion-head at how poorly everything fits? As he explains it:

“‘The men under the influence…’ adresses the recent change in roles in heterosexual relationships from the relationships of our predecessors and how those changes have affected men in particular. The photos attempt to capture men’s sense of loss reference, now that women have taken a step forward and have finally come into their own as equal partners. The project consists of full-lenght portraits of men wearing the clothes of their girlfriends or wifes, taken in the space shared by the couple.”
