When you’re packing for a journey, it’s natural to grab a few belongings: your record player, a microscope, tennis rackets, you know, the usual stuff. But, as the cliche goes, it’s not about the destination, or what you take with you along the way, but where you’re going. All of the material belongings are quickly thrown by the wayside here, except for the bacon. You can’t forget the bacon. The destination in “White Hot Heart”, the new video from moody, electro-gaze husband and wife duo Mint Julep is enduring, ageless love.
“We approached P3 about doing a video for this song because we knew they’d have a great take on the song both visually and story-telling-wise,” Keith Kenniff, aka Goldmund & Helios, says of the video.
“We didn’t talk too much about particulars before starting because we really just wanted them to let loose and do their thing. Hollie’s lyrics for the song are fairly vague based on a hypothetical relationship, but when we saw the story they developed it made a lot of sense and we really loved the way it was filmed…even though it was shot in the dead of winter, it made us feel all warm and fuzzy.”
The song comes from Mint Julep’s Broken Devotion, available now.
