Jenny Beaven is a costume designer who’s won two Academy Awards and been nominated a total of ten damn times. Her work has been recognized for films like A Room with a View, Howards End, The Remains of the Day, Sense and Sensibility, Gosford Park,The King’s Speech and this year’s Oscar juggernaut Mad Max: Fury Road.
Here’s a Vine of Beaven, again, a ten-time Academy Award nominee and two-time winner, being sneered at by her colleagues as she approached the stage tonight to collect her Oscar. Her second.
Hollywood is good.
As if that weren’t enough, Beaven was also played off when she warned about the real world threat that climate change plays, saying that we’re not that far away from the world of Mad Max. The film, she said, “could be horribly prophetic if we’re not kind to each other and if we don’t protect our atmosphere.”

Despite her reception in the audience, Beaven, many on Twitter seem to agree, is a bad ass.

I love Jenny Beaven. What a way to just be yourself without succumbing to pressure from #oscars crowd. Her outfit. Her speech. Her essence!
