LOLAWOLF is back with a new R&B-inspired alt-pop single, “Teardrop,” featuring your favorite tongue-wielder Miley Cyrus. Singer-actress Zoe Kravitz and Jimmy Giannapoulous‘ first release since 2015, the single is a trance-driven, soulful ballad that sees Kravitz and Cyrus singing, “You fall in love, then you love when it’s done,” over Giannapoulos’ dreamy production.
Though the track is LOLAWOLF’s first real collaboration with Cyrus, they’ve been hinting at a partnership for some time, with the band having opened for her 2014 world tour, and a cameo by Cyrus in their 2015 “Bitch” music video. “Fuck fuckin’ love games,” Cyrus whispers on “Teardrop,” “Love’s not a game and if it is, I don’t wanna play.”
Released yesterday on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show, “Teardrop” is the lead single off the band’s forthcoming album, due by the end of the summer, and the artwork features a distorted photo of America’s hottest felon—amazing.
