There’s something innately fascinating about Lindsay Lohan. Despite the fact that she hasn’t appeared in anything of note in, like, a decade, she somehow remains of interest. Perhaps it’s simply because she continues to engage in wacky, unexpected behavior or maybe we take some sick pleasure in a once-promising actress chilling on the D list for so many years. Whatever the reason, we still care about what religion LiLo is converting to and her peculiar new accent.
But do we care enough to pony up cash? Lohan hopes so. The actress recently launched a new website via the portal Preemium that will give fans exclusive behind the scenes access to her life for $2.99 a month. According to an Instagram post, the subscription will get you “personal diaries, video updates, exclusive personal photos, fashion and beauty tutorials, shopping guides, behind the scenes content, my favorite products and much more. To get an all-access pass to my life, Preemium is must-have for all my fans and followers.”
So far, Lohan has shared a diary entry stating that she is “in a period of renewal” as well as some behind the scenes footage from a couple photoshoots. It’s basically the sort of stuff we used to get for free via her Instagram. It’s boring.
The truth is, for better or worse, we’re only fascinated with Lohan’s life when viewed threw the unforgiving lens of the media. Who cares to read Lohan’s curated diary or watch her carefully edited videos? Who cares what face cream she uses? We want wacky accents, explosive breakups and burkinis, and we don’t need to pay a dime for that.
