For the second and final time, Kanye West and A.P.C. officially announced their Fall/Winter collaboration. Diving deep into military aesthetics, the collection balances A.P.C.’s streamlined silhouettes and Kanye’s personal style. Tailored denim shirts pair with army green cargo pants; plush fur lines forest green parkas. Of course, the basics are presented too—a basic white t-shirt, earth tone crew neck sweaters, and denim pants.
Despite the collaboration’s anticipated success, A.P.C.’s proprietor Jean Touitou told Style.com that this would be the last Kanye A.P.C. collection. “I’m tired of collaborating,” he said. “I don’t look for collaborations. I just wait until it knocks at my door.” In addition to Touitou’s statement, Kanye also wants to expand his partnership with Adidas, which interferes with A.P.C.’s alliance to Nike.
Kanye A.P.C. came about in a way that mirrors Kanye’s music composition habits: the guy is known for changing songs mere days before a record is dropped. Accordingly, Touitou dealt with Kanye wanting to alter garments up until the very last minute. In spite of these last minute alterations, however, the collection will hit stores on time. So save up and mark your calendars for July 17th, because the collection won’t last long on shelves.
