Lady Gaga’s new album, ARTPOP, is coming out next year. Lady Gaga’s new album, ARTPOP, is going to be so conceptually and commercially huge that she decided to name it ARTPOP. But all of her big ideas don’t simply stop with that big idea name (ARTPOP, in case you forgot): On her website, she announced that the album will be accompanied by an interactive app that will act as ground zero for all things Gaga. Essentially, it sounds like a riff on Bjork’s Biophilia, which famously matched all of its songs to several apps meant to delineate her artistic vision, or something. Gaga might not go so far as turning her app into a children’s workshop, but we’ll see what happens. Below, the instructive part:
ARTPOP will be released as an IPAD, iPhone, mobile and computer compatible application (WORLD) that is completely interactive with chats, films for every song, extra music, content, gaga inspired games, fashion updates, magazines, and more still in the works! I will also be able to upload new things to the APP all the time, the same way i upload to twitter and LM.com. You inspired me to create something that communicated with images, because YOU do, YOU communicate with me and each other with .gifs and pictures, and artwork, graphics ALL DAY 24/7/ YOU’RE an ARTPOP generation. Im hoping you will all continue to grow together and stay connected through your creativity.
Right on cue, here’s the top comment with 695 likes: “Once again doing something no other artist has ever done!!!” Ugh, it’s like no one under the age of 18 has even read a Pitchfork year-end list.
