Lady Gaga has always been the fashion world’s favorite pop star, so it comes as no surprise that she’s decided to make like Kanye and apply the customs of the industry to hawking her own merch. Yep, that’s right, there’s a legitimate editorial lookbook built around Gaga’s concert tees and patches. It’s even being touted as a “capsule collection,” which is about as fashiony as it gets.
According to Fashionista, Gaga employed the services of Lobster Eye (who produced her recent Super Bowl performance) and Bravada, a popular merchandise manufacturer to put together the so-called “elevated high fashion lookbook.” It was shot by Synchrodogs, a Ukrainian photography duo comprised of Tania Shcheglova and Roman Noven.
Styled by Daria Lagenberg, the images find models Daria Svertilova and Stacy Koren transformed into high style woodland creatures with some very Gaga eccentricities like yellow eyeshadow, a pink satin bra worn over a tee shirt, and even a yellow snakeskin suit.
Honestly, it looks pretty damn cool — though I must admit, I often find myself coveting everything in the shot except the Gaga-branded tee. But hey, that’s just me. If recent merch launches by Justin Bieber, Kanye West, and the Weeknd are an accurate representation of people’s hunger for products with their favorite musician’s name/face on them, then Gaga will have no problem selling out of this stuff. All the Joanne merch shown in the lookbook is currently available on Gaga’s website.
