LA Indie-Pop Duo Torches Aren’t Afraid of the ‘Future’ On New Track

+

The future is scary as shit, right? The certainty of death, the prospect of a irreversible climate damage, and, even worse, a potential Trump presidency. You can either worry, or, like LA-based duo Torches, say “fuck it,” and enjoy the present while you can. One place to start is their new track called “Future:” a breezy, care-free cut of carpe diem indie pop.

“There’s something really empowering about not caring about your own fate,”Azad Cheikosman says of the track. “‘Future’ is about accepting the fact that life is often disappointing, and you have to be willing to embrace change. Another door eventually opens. This next line from song is something that has always stuck with me, saying ‘They always told me not to stare at the clouds, now I’m looking out the window and there’s something there.’ If you want something, go get it, it’s there, you just have to rid yourself of all inhibitions.”
