Congratulations to one time Bullett cover girl Kirsten Dunst and Dillon, Texas’ most lovable indie rock doofus/murderer Jesse Plemons, who will star in the second season of FX’s Emmy-winning Fargo, the network announced yesterday.
Dunst, it has been reported, will play the character of Peggy Blomquist, “a small town beautician with big city dreams who is trying to figure out who she really is and what she really wants as she struggles with traditional societal expectations. She shares her home with her husband Ed (Plemons), a butcher’s assistant, who wants to be supportive of his wife’s self-discovery, even if he doesn’t quite understand it.”
Something tells me, knowing the brutal atmosphere of the brilliant first season, and the film it was loosely based on, that that butcher shop will play a pretty big part of the story at some point.
The second season will take a jump back in time, to 1979, where police officer Lou Solverson, (father of Allison Tolman’s delightful season 1 character), as he gets wrapped up in another bleak murder case.
People will probably die.
