Kenzo has released a trailer for their upcoming short, The Realest Real, featuring Kim Gordon and actresses Natasha Lyonne and Rowan Blanchard, among others. Designer duo Humberto Leon and Carol Lim decided to team up with Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein to direct it.
Previously, Kenzo has collaborated with a number of directors, including Gregg Araki and Olivia Partel, to create fashion films for each season, with Partel directing a film for their pre-fall ’16 line about a Japanese all-girl biker gang. The Realest Real will showcase the brand’s fall ’16 collection in a “humorous exploration of the fickle and instant world of the internet.”
Although not much is explained about the film, the trailer shows actor Mahershala Ali working at “The Institute of The Real and Really Real,” while Rowan Blanchard, Natasha Lyonne and Laura Harrier traipse around in colorful outfits from the upcoming collection. Gordon wears a white lace turtleneck and floral dress in what looks like might be a wedding scene.
The short is set for a September release, but you can peep some of the film’s characters in the fall ’16 campaign, out now. Watch the full trailer, below.
