We’ve been digging LA-based artist Kid Moxie for a while now, from her early releases, to the time she took us on a photo tour, to her Lynch-approved “Blue Velvet” update. The latest from Elena Charbila, “Dirty Air,” is right back in our wheelhouse. A propulsive synth track that swoons and meanders with celestial gusts.
“Usually, an imaginary scene that plays out in my head is the inspiration behind a song,” she explains. “For ‘Dirty Air,’ I imagined a girl waking up alone in her bed in the middle of the night. She notices that there are little clouds over her head and rain is starting to pour down, inside her room. She sits there, without moving, calm. The outside setting is a big Metropolitan city full of high-rises and she is just a tiny piece of it.”
