All eyes are on Kesha, as we watch her withering career be manhandled by a patriarchal system that favors the word of an alleged rapist over the victim. Though on paper it seems the Animal singer’s abuser Dr. Luke is winning, Kesha has triumphantly risen from the ashes with help from producer Zedd.
Rumors of the pair’s collaboration began circulating when he shared an ambiguous Instagram photo from the studio, which many speculated featured Kesha. Curious gossipers were proven correct when Zedd announced days later the pair would be releasing a collaborative track, “True Colors,” this Friday. Ahead of its official premiere, the song has found its way online and can be streamed, below.
“All my life, one page at a time, I’ll show you my true colors,” Kesha sings above dramatic, thundering production. “I won’t apologize for the fire in my eyes. Let me show you my true colors—it ain’t a rainbow.”
