We all love ’90s nostalgia, and the pinnacle of ’90s nostalgia is Kate Moss’ Calvin Klein ads.
Shot by Mario Sorrenti (then Moss’ boyfriend), the images prompted the invention of the term “heroin chic,” sparked outrage and controversy and launched the career of the most famous supermodel ever (I’m speaking, of course, of the 1993 “Obsession” campaign, not the ones with Marky Mark. Those were actually a little creepy).
Now, over two decades later, the 42-year-old stunner returns to the mother ship. Joining the likes of Grace Coddington and Frank Ocean, Moss slips back on her Calvins for this star-studded campaign. Fittingly, hers is seeped in sentimentality.
“I look back in #mycalvins,” followed by the words “Kate Moss, Icon.”
Game, set and match.
