Kate Bush, Spice Girls, One Direction, and Every Other Brit Act Performing at Closing Ceremonies

+

It’s been rumored for a while that Kate Bush would play the closing ceremonies of the London Olympics, and it’s a story that’s getting more circulation today as UK tabloid the Sun has turned up a bunch of pictures of several British recording artists rehearsing for the ceremony on Sunday. Included in the images are every British person to ever put out a record. Seriously. You can see George Michael, the Spice Girls, Annie Lennox, Jessie J, Brian May, Pet Shop Boys, and Tinie Tempah rehearsing on rickshaws, black cabs and what appears to be the prow of a ship for Lennox. Also rumored but not snapped are One Direction, the Who, Madness, Fatboy Slim, Muse, and Paul McCartney (again!). It’s really only a matter of time before Sting, Black Sabbath, Bronski Beat, Soul II Soul, Susan Boyle, Girls Aloud, the Dave Clark Five, the Streets and Dido join the fray. Soon after that the whole mess will be joined by Adele, Judas Priest, Ellie Goulding, Lily Allen, Duffy, Rick Astley, to be led in a rousing version of “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” by the corpse of Ivor Novello. Bob Geldof, what can’t that man do?
