Since Kanye West pretty much only works with people who can handle their shit, he hasn’t had a weak collaboration in quite some time. (His verse on Katy Perry’s “E.T.” notwithstanding.) But his newest music partner might throw fans for a loop, depending on how they feel about EDM. In an interview with the Daily Beast, none other than Skrillex revealed that he’s worked with ‘Ye for a song on his upcoming record. “I did some music with Kanye,” Skrillex said, “and from what I know, it’s actually going to be the first song on his new album.” Whether he means the forthcoming GOOD Music compilation, Cruel Summer, or some unnamed Kanye solo record is unclear, but it’s both intriguing and a little terrifying to imagine how Kanye West’s preppy braggadocio will mix with Skrillex’s famous wubs and dubs. Artistic hubris can sometimes bring strong tidings, but this could be on an entirely different level. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
