In Pinky and the Brain-like fashion, Damon Dash announced via Instagram that he and Kanye West are “taking over the world.” …Culturally, that is.
Their first course of action? Purchasing the web retailer Karmaloop. I’m not exactly sure how a platform for selling streetwear is going to lead to total cultural world domination, but I reckon they’ve got a plan of some sort.
News broke Monday that the 15-year-old company had filed for bankruptcy, and yesterday Dash announced via a series of black and white Instagram videos that he and Ye had scooped it up. As Dash accurately points out, Kanye is “super famous,” meaning the rapper literally doesn’t have to do anything other than stand there to build interest around a previously failing company.
