As we pointed out, for a brief, glorious moment, the “Ultimate” Aaliyah collection was available for streaming and purchase via Apple Music. Alas, it was too good to be true – the entire collection was removed yesterday afternoon.
“Our lawyers are handling it,” Rell Lafargue (COO of Reservoir Media, which holds the rights to Aaliyah’s discography) told Complex shortly before the songs were removed. “I don’t think you’ll see it there long.”
Can’t Reservoir Media just grant us this small pleasure? If this isn’t the very definition of suited lizards ruining the music industry, I don’t know what is.
